Achey breaky legs and my pick axe

Mission: Full day hike up the Franz Josef glacier.

There was ice, snow, ice and more ice (and I didn't even have time to make a snowman). We hiked up steps freshly made from our guide (my guide was called Russell and he had a big pick axe), crawled through tight crevasses, posed in an ice cave with our much smaller pick axe, learned to do the Franz shuffle, walked across big crevasses with the aid of a ladder, a plank of wood and a bit of rope. God, we were hard core!

We also froze our fingers and toes, I broke my talonz, slipped a couple of times and my legs ached for two days.

But goddamn, it was fun ;o)
