The City of Angels

We spent our first week in the U S of A, hanging out in Bellflower where my aunt, her family, their dogs and snapping turtles live, spent a day driving around LA - downtown and moving to the wealthier side of west hollywood (the difference between the two is pretty depressing - going from spotting a tramp with his pants down checking for something I don't want to say, downtown (literally), and then gucci ladies in shades in hollywood. We've eaten - LOTS! including pancakes, the best chinese ever, great sushi and, of course, burgers galore. No wonder people are so big here! We've spent about 15 hrs in total on the greyhound - just like being on a night bus with the weirdos you get, won and lost in Vegas (let's just say we weren't big risk takers), we were amazed by the grand canyon, and not so amazed by the hoover dam - lots of concrete...like their freeways, really. We met lots of americans willing to tell us their life story, god bless 'em, panicked a little at pedestrian crossings with countdowns before you get run over by a hummer with wheels taller then me (ok, so I know that's not hard!) We went to the beach, watched a movie and had a few drinks (after proving we're both over 21) - lived the american dream, baby!!
