The Kiwi Bus

What do you when you have two weeks in New Zealand and you want to see EVERYTHING??

You go on the Kiwi Experience!

The experience would take us to...

Lake Mahinapua where we admired driftwoood along the beach, chilled out at the peaceful lake, drank lots of cheap beer at Les' place - the Poo Pub, where we also stayed, checked out the glow worms (so cool!) and got dressed up in bin bags...

Franz Josef where we stayed in a rainforest, fell through the sky and tried not falling down a deep icy crevasse on a glacier hike

Lake Wanaka where we checked out the pub across the road and watched a movie (so we didn't do any big walks around the lake...but we were tired after the hike!)

Queenstown where we saw our friends do a bungy (managed to convince ourselves we didn't have the money - plus it's goddamn scary looking!) and drank copious amounts of alcohol from teapots while dancing our socks off...yep, this is the life

Milford Sound where we enjoyed the company, the fab scenery and the glorious sunshine (especially after the heavy snow on the drive down)

Christchurch where we watched Bridget Jones and drank pink champagne, had to leave a restaurant because the chef went schizo and shopped...for practical things - honest

Kaikoura where we stayed in a lovely hostel, visited the winery, had wine with crayfish and chips and got up at 5 in the morning to swim with wild dusky dolphins

Wellington where we mostly chilled out and recovered from early morning swim with dolphins and a bumpy plane ride from Picton

Taupo where we took a long (v. up and down) walk along the river and relaxed in the hot springs

Then we were saved by that goddamn green bus which was basically our home for the last 10 days and took a road trip with our friends Matt and Perrie (a lovely welsh couple - despite our first impression of Matt being a moody b*stard)to...

Rotorua where we relaxed in some more hot springs, went to a maori evening, saw the haka, ate some hangi and boogied the night away

And, finally, we ended up in Auckland. Only had the evening here and we decided to chill. We saw a very cheesy movie with J Lo - she really can't act! and had food and a few drinks with our welsh buddies.
